Now I knew I recognised that old guy full of charisma in the PC Curry's adverts. It just didn't click until the trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence was released one day ago.
A majority of the original cast including Jeff Goldblum return in the epic sequel which an alien force descends upon America with a vengeance. Set twenty years after the initial battle the nation has already used what they knew of the alien technology to advance their own and protect themselves against future inter-worldly wars but in the first moments of the trailer it seems that all this work is not nearly enough as we see a mammoth alien space ship crossing the ocean in a plume of thunder and fire.
So what can we expect in this sequel? Will Smith is obviously not on that list. The Twitterverse exploded with millions asking what exactly happened to their favourite character and why? There were rumours he'd been killed off yet the Fresh Prince of Bel Air fans were not happy. Oh no....
A viral site, designed for the purpose of advertising the movie, states that due to an "unknown malfunction" during a test flight Col. Steve Hiller was killed. Cue the endless meme's...

Funnily enough Col. Steve Hiller's wife and son are brought back to star in the sequel although what role they could possibly play is yet unknown. Not like she's going to stumble upon The First Lady again. Or will she? And what happened to the dog Boomer? Does he make a come back? Wouldn't it be cool if the dog saved the day?
